The Watts WH5 is a whole house filter element that fits most standard filter housings. It is a 5 micron filter that removes particulate matter and organics from the water. However, it does not remove normal chlorine from the water, which is normally present in such small amounts that it won't harm you. The filter does a good job in places with iron in the water. The carbon block element from Dupont is preferred over the Watts WH5 as it does a better job of removing chlorine and other bad tastes. Customer reception of this product is mixed. Some customers found that it fit and worked great in their motor homes and 5th wheel water input filters. Others found that it looked like a lump of plastic, did not identify as a genuine Watts filter or like the photo, and did not make any difference to the water coming through the tap. They reported that the filter collection of sediment or discoloration was as new after two months of use. The filter almost stopped water supply and had no positive effect. Additionally, some customers found that it killed water flow to the point where only one tap could be used at a time and toilet bowls weren't filling to the required levels.
