Sonos Play:5 (2009) - Black
The Sonos Play 5 is a highly rated and powerful speaker with good sound quality. It can be connected to an external audio source such as a TV, allowing the material to be streamed through any combination of Sonos devices in the system. It can also be connected to an Echo Dot line out, although this will require setting the Sonos to line in mode, and the Dot line out is hardwired to bypass its internal speaker. However, some reviews suggest that the Sonos app can be difficult to use and integrate, with frequent bugs that cause system failures. Updating the system can also cause further complications, and the speaker is not compatible with S1. Additionally, it does not have Bluetooth connectivity and relies on constant Wi-Fi service to function, so if the Wi-Fi goes down, the speaker becomes useless.
