The Seachem Tidal 75 is an excellent HOB filter that self-primes, adjustable flow rate, and can hold a good amount of filtering media. It has internal tank clearance of 1 3/4" and the tank trim clearance is 1 5/16" which is perfect for 22 gallons or an even larger tank. The surface skimmer must be immersed in water to work, but it doesn't suck in that strong so there is no need to worry about food getting pulled in. The flow rate is adjustable which helps to fine-tune the flow to your tank's needs. This filter can bypass and spill filter media, but it can get quite downy with the changed reduced flow rate. This HOB filter is powerful, quiet, and gets the job done to get the tank crystal clear.
