The Zooz Z-Wave Plus 700 Series Titan Water Valve Actuator ZAC36 is a powerful and solid device that can be easily installed and calibrated. Customers have used it for different purposes like turning off water in between AirBnB guests, automating their condo heating and air conditioning, and preventing water damage. The device is compatible with Z-Wave hubs like SmartThings and Hubitat, and it can handle normal/tough ball valves without a problem. Installation requirements include 3" clearance from the valve center to each side on the pipe, at least 1.25" clearance between the valve handle and the pipe, at least 1" clearance between the pipe and the wall. The device is waterproof and rated for outdoor use (IP66). It comes with a dedicated corded water sensor, and users can add many leak/water sensors elsewhere in the home, and set up a simple automation to shut off the valve if any of them detect water. The device is good for a minimum of 5000 cycles, so frequent use may affect its life cycle. Some customers have requested a lock or something to prevent the device from being taken off easily.
